Find the Right Length
Roll up the hem to the length that you prefer. I usually wear mine calf length but some people wear them longer. At 5′ 8″. I wear my boyfriend jeans rolled up about 5 inches above my ankle bone, with flats. They will be too short to wear full length but will look good with taller ankle boots.
Find the Right Wash
As with all denim, choose the degree of distress that you want. These jeans are usually faded and distressed, but there are definitely darker washes that are available too. It might just take a bit more searching. Typically, these aren’t the type of jeans that you will wear to work so buying them with some slight wear and tear gives them more personality.
Find your Fit
Boyfriend jeans come with varying degrees of bagginess. There are some that are roomier on the hips and thights, but fitted on the waist. Some are unstructured and are very roomy and there are some that slide right off. Even though I like them roomier, I always order a size down to fit my waste but then I have the the bagginess that I want in the legs.
