Goodbye 2017, Hello 2018
Wow, what a year! It’s been a challenging year. I’d be lying if I said this year didn’t give me a run for my money but I go to bed every night grateful and loved.
Here are some of the things that made this year the best:
I feel so incredibly lucky for the family I have. I’m not kidding; I feel like I hit the lottery in the family department. This year we welcomed Lily who is the cutest little girl I’ve ever seen. Jack turned 3 and continues to amaze me everyday with how smart and wity he is. Every moment is cherished, whether we’re sitting around the table talking, poking fun at someone, or curled up on the couch watching Netflix. Knowing that my family is completely healthy and happy means more to me than anything else could.
This was such a great year for friends. I swear, I’ve lucked out in the friend department. This year, I’ve been focusing on surrounding myself with the absolute best of the best. I have friends at school who inspire me in everything they do and friends who are genuinely good people. It’s not something I will ever take for granted. Between friends from the gym, school, and friends from blogging, I just love the amazing people I have in my life. Every day I am inspired by them and strive to be as great of a friend to them as they are to me.

This year I really focused on making sure that I made it to the gym at-least three times a week. I learned to enjoy sweating, stretching and even the soreness the next day. I love the gym that I go to and the friends that I’ve made there. One of my best friends came out of going to the gym and I love how we can laugh and push each other throughout our workouts.
How could Ruby Doo not make the cut this year? Finding Ruby took a while and even when I got her I wasn’t entirely ready for her sassy personality. She’s super feisty and playful, but is also a cuddle muffin to pretty much everyone but me. We always joke that it seems like she is going through the teenage phase because she has an attitude with me right now but loves up everyone else.

There are years when I love blogging more and when I love it less. It’s always a little bit of an internal battle for me, honestly. If I didn’t love it, I don’t think I could put up with all the little things I don’t love. Every year challenges comes up: figuring out how to keep it up while also working full time, figuring out how to find purpose for doing it, coming to terms with living a somewhat public life vs a personal one. But at the end of the day, I have a life outside of the blog and outside of Instagram and this year I’ve balanced that even more.
I hope you all get time to reflect on your past year with fond memories! See you all in 2018!
