I recently had the opportunity to speak with one of Central Illinois’ players that are in the NFL. Colton Underwood, former Illinois State Football Standout, who is now a member of the Oakland Raiders in his fourth year in the NFL. Colton is originally from Washington, Illinois which us central Illinoisans would know as it was the town that the tornadoes hit in 2013.

For those of you in the Central Illinois area, Colton will be sponsoring a Gala Dinner at the Par-A-Dice Hotel on Friday, June 24th. This will be a red carpet event with NFL players present. The theme of the event is “funky formal”.  It will have a west coast feel with dueling pianos, great music, and fabulous fashion. This is a night to get dressed up and express yourself through what you wear. This would make for such a fun girl’s night or a date night! The tickets for the event can be found on his website.  The tickets go for $125 per person or $1,000 for a Table of 10.

One of the main reasons why I like this foundation and event so much is because there is a huge emphasis on fundraising for Cystic Fibrosis . Colton became interested in Cystic Fibrosis because his 4 year old cousin, Harper has the disease. He was impressed with what a hard-working little girl she was and felt that he needed to somehow make a difference in her fight. With this in mind, he developed a foundation to raise money to aid Cystic Fibrosis patients and search for a cure.  The money goes towards setting up college scholarships, providing equipment to the Children’s Hospital, and some of the money goes directly to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

If you are not able to make it to the dinner you can also directly donate to the foundation here.
